Cala Xada

Late April to mid-June and September are usually best around Cala Xada — clear water, manageable heat and far less competition for parking. Peak July–August means warmer water but earlier starts and longer queues.

Most travellers reach Cala Xada by car — it's the most flexible option. Public buses cover the main hubs and a taxi or pre-booked transfer works for shorter visits. Plan for traffic in July and August.

Parking near Cala Xada can be limited in summer. Arrive before 10:00 in July and August, or use a paid lot nearby. Some coves require a short walk from the road.

Cala Xada works for families when the water is shallow and the access is easy. Check the sand type, shade options and lifeguard hours before bringing small children, and bring extra water for hot days.

A relaxed half-day works well at Cala Xada — enough time for a swim, a snack, a walk along the shore and golden hour. Add lunch nearby and the whole day fills up easily.

Dog access at Mallorca beaches is regulated and changes seasonally. Outside the main summer months, many beaches around Cala Xada are dog-friendly; in July–August it's usually restricted.

Sunscreen, a hat, plenty of water, sandals you can walk in, a towel and ideally something to snack on. For rocky coves around Cala Xada, water shoes and a mask make the visit far better.

Around Cala Xada, snorkeling is best in the early morning when the water is calm. Rocky edges and small caves usually hold the most fish; a mask and water shoes make a real difference.
